It will attach to the gooseneck ball, a piece of 3x4" tubing slips over the ball and two 3/4" pins will lock it into the skinny part of the ball. I did find a 1 row machine eventually but got out of it. Needs 2 people on the machine so it's not really automatic but works good for small acreage
It plants 4 rows on a 60' bed but you can change that if necessary. I have a home build planter here that we used to plant shallot sets with but not anymore. All said and done I have about $1000 into it. This has axles from a gooseneck hitch grain trailer, I-beams from an auction which appear to have been some sort of large jib crane, front axle is shortened off an old feed mill. Just wanted to see some more of the farm shop built equipment and if you did a drawing first. But like the garlic planter idea it always seems hard to start out like I need a plan before I can start.
I was looking at some strip till units, not in the works now but If I ever did strip till I would think about building my own unit, maybe even try to make it a fertilizer banding unit if I could figure out how to meter fertilizer. Was thinking of building an automatic garlic planter a couple years back but It never happened.
